    Jointly organized by CCTV Economic Channel, China's financial website and Sohu Internet financial channels, in association with more than 20 mainstream media, “2005 China's insurance industry figure” was officially announced in March 18, 2006. Board chairman and President Zhang Weigong was elected “2005 China's insurance industry figure”.

    According to the election committee, the main reason for Board chairman and President Zhang Weigong's election is for his “magic hand” to create Sunshine Property and Casualty Insurance Company Limited and to rapidly nationalize Sunshine Insurance, which enabled the company to rapidly rise among many companies in the insurance industry with distinctive characteristics in 2005.

    The election committee introduced that Zhang Weigong swept into action quickly, has the style of “iron fist”. Before he founded Sunshine Insurance, he was the former party secretary and director of China Insurance Regulatory Commission Guangdong Bureau, is the youngest bureau-level cadre in China's insurance regulatory system and with outstanding achievements in striking “underground insurance policy”. Earlier, when he was in the position of party secretary and director of China Insurance Regulatory Commission Jiangsu Bureau, he took the lead in establishing in insurance, and later, credit system was crazily triggered nationwide, Jiangsu insurance market rapidly developed, and jumped first in the country. Besides this, he has many years management experience in insurance industry.
   

    In 2005, Zhang Weigong prudently selected shareholders from 389 enterprises and from Heilongjiang to Hainan Island, with his “magic hand” nationalized Sunshine Insurance quickly, and formed “giant” type of shareholders which were based on 5 state monopolized enterprises or leading enterprises: SINOPEC, China Southern Airlines, CHINALCO，SINOTRANS，Guangdong Electric Power Development Co., Ltd. in the industry.
   

    In addition to this, Sunshine Insurance which is led by Zhang Weigong was larruping from the very beginning, accomplished the practice of many innovative initiatives of the industry
